Trans-ing Your Gender Seminar

The Trans-ing Your Gender (and helping others do so) seminar will be held during the Big Gay Pride Market on Saturday, June 14 from 12:45pm to 2pm

Experienced instructors from Trans Medical Mutual Aid will lead you through a presentation about social, hormonal, and medical/surgical transition. This class is friendly to folks who are questioning their gender, transitioning / trans, and folks who want to support or understand their trans loved ones better.

We will provide useful information on each topic and resources to take home, where available. In the medical portion, you can expect our usual expertise on navigating the gender-affirming surgical care medical and therapeutic system; leveraging benefits, financial aid, and other local resources to access care, current wait time and scheduling information, and much more!

ALL minors must be accompanied by an adult

Whether you’re an expert or an ally, we hope to see you there!

Other

This seminar features information and some images related to gender transition / gender-affirming care, including information about the process of qualifying for, getting, and recovering from various gender-affirming surgical procedures. The presentation contains some sensitive information and images that might be disturbing/distressing for some attendees. You will be warned before any images are shown. Gender-affirming care has been repeatedly targeted by politicians. Process and results images are rarely shown due to their intimate nature. If you come to this program, you must agree to some basic rules:

  1. No recording of any kind (audio, video, pictures)

  2. Respect people’s privacy. After the program, do not talk about

    1. Who you saw in the program

    2. Questions or comments others shared in the program

    3. Information about medical facilities or providers

    4. Information about any images (medical procedure pictures, before/after pictures)

  3. Keep your opinions to yourself

    1. People have different aesthetic goals for transition

    2. People have different functional goals for transition

  4. If you are under 18, you must bring a trusted adult or guardian with you

Event attendance will be limited due to room constraints. Signing up for this event does not ensure your acceptance. Please wait for an email confirmation, which will indicate that a seat in the class will be held for you. Bring this email and a form of identification with you (last name match) to the Big Gay Market.
