Community Resources
Welcome to the Mutual Aid Resource Center
Community connection made easy
We have compiled a large list of resources to help queer folks in the area access as much community care and connection as possible. These are split into categories for convenience, such as non-profits, queer sports teams, recurring community events, and more. If you would like to suggest a recurring event, resource group, or queer service in the area, please reach out using our Contact Us form!
For safety, not all resources are listed. Please contact us or VISIT OUR OFFICE HOURS for our most complete support and suggestions!!!
Non-Profit Organizations
Who is doing what in the area?
Trans Wellness
This is us! We run three distinct services:
Letters of Readiness Booths at Pride Events - we help folks at pride get an immediate or scheduled appointment with a qualified mental health practitioner to complete a letter of readiness assessment. If you meet the requirements for a letter, it will be provided free of charge.
Queer Campout - we run an annual adult summer camp fundraiser that facilitates large group bonding and traditional camp fun. Money raised by this event goes into a fund for people who need assistance affording gender-affirming medical care.
Trans Medical Mutual Aid - we have a dedicated group that supports people actively getting gender-affirming medical procedures by providing safe rides, meals, supplies, and peer support to people getting or recovering from medical care in the Dane county area. We also help folks interested in gender-affirming medical care or supporting others in their recovery by providing educational courses and sessions on options for medical procedures, how to navigate the medical system, understanding letters of readiness and insurance, and more. We assist people in accessing financial aid during our open office hours or support folks who are fundraising on their own by sharing their asks. Medical Access Classes are available for your group by request and we host open office hours to provide all of our available services one-on-one or to small groups every month.
